Role Summary

Roberts Resorts & Communities is a privately held, founder-led owner and operator of manufactured home, RV, and cabin communities across the United States. The company is in an active phase of growth and operational refinement, with an immediate need to professionalize sales execution and reliably deliver budgeted home sales performance.

The Vice President of Sales is the senior leader accountable for all manufactured home revenue across all sales entities. This role is responsible for hitting sales targets from day one while simultaneously fixing, stabilizing, and scaling the sales organization. Success requires building the backbone of the sales function—data discipline, pricing control, training, KPIs, and operating cadence—while maintaining relentless focus on selling homes.

This is a field-first, high-travel role. The VP of Sales spends the majority of time on property, working directly with onsite teams, understanding market conditions, inventory, and buyer behavior, and driving performance through presence and execution. This is not a hands-off strategy role. The right leader is deeply involved in the business, comfortable making hard decisions, and energized by accountability.

The VP of Sales fully owns pricing and discounting, inventory decisions, sales execution standards, and sales leadership performance. This role partners closely with Operations and Finance to remove friction, break down silos, and deliver results, no excuses, no finger-pointing.

This role can be based in Scottsdale, AZ or Austin, TX and requires approximately 75% travel.

Performance Objectives

  • Hit or exceed the budgeted home sales revenue and volume across all sales entities.
  • Drive inventory velocity while protecting margin through disciplined pricing and discounting.
  • Maintain full visibility into inventory, pipeline, forecasts, and close rates at all times.
  • Make and execute clear decisions on whether homes should be sold, rented, leased, or deployed through hybrid models.
  • Identify underperforming markets or assets quickly and intervene decisively.
  • Lead the hiring, training, supervision, and termination of sales staff, ensuring a high-performing team.
  • Promote the value of homes and the community, employing creative advertising strategies to drive sales.
  • Maintain a customer-centric approach, always prioritizing customer satisfaction and addressing concerns promptly.
  • Ensure sales financial performance meets or exceeds projections as established by sales in concert with CFO and the Chief Operations Officer.
  • Ensure sales goals meet or exceed projections as established by sales in concert with VP Finance & Accounting and Chief of Operations
  • Review, approve, code, and submit all invoices requiring payment by the accounts payable department, maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ensure daily attention to detail in customer handling from initial visit through sales process and closing, including comprehensive knowledge of housing products.
  • Oversee all loan applications, credit and background checks, and note origination processes, ensuring smooth flow of paperwork and adherence to timelines.
  • Manage the setup of homes and the critical path, adhering to designated time frames, and ensuring timely submission of sales consultants’ commissions for payment.
  • Confirm sales team is meeting or exceeding daily and weekly promotional goals for their specific sales location.
